Traveling the East Coast this past week was a bit of returning to my old stomping grounds (I was a pastor in New York City for 11 years) and meeting new people. After crashing the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) retreat in Pennsylvania, it was on to New York. In case you didn’t already know this, the LWML is a tremendous partner in mission and ministry. Get to know them. Stops in New York included Concordia-New York and Martin Luther School in Queens. I’m thankful that I was able to worship with Oasis at Concordia-Wilmington on Wednesday. Thursday morning was at Baltimore Lutheran High School and then I met two young men who hope to be the class of 2022 and 2024! Friday was spent at Immanuel-Charlottesville, Virginia and with participants from Vocatio 2011. Congratulations to Ryan and Wake Forest – Roosevelt for their football victory Friday night. The Vocatio 2011 reunion continued with a bonfire Friday night, breakfast in the morning, and time to bring one another up to date and pray for one another. The picture is the fountain whose foundation was dug by Vocatio participants this past June. Thanks for helping President Meyer make the Academic Quad a fantastic new gathering place!
