Lord God, Your gracious presence attends Your people wherever they go. Be with those whose lives are in transition as they move from a familiar home to a new community. Support them in times of challenge or loneliness, and surround them with caring Christian people so that they may find welcome and peace in their new location and joy in Your ongoing kindness and love; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen (LSB Altar Book)
The Admissions Committee of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis met on Monday, August 14. At that meeting, four new Master of Divinity (M.Div.) applicants were considered and were admitted for Fall 2018. “August is always a wonderful month as we begin considering applicants for the next year,” said Rev. Bill Wrede, Director of Ministerial Recruitment and Admissions. “Early applicants are ahead of even the earliest of deadlines and are eligible for the highest level of scholarships. Not only that, many will return to finish their undergraduate degree this fall with this part of the process behind them.” We continue to pray for those who are have applied and those who are still discerning God’s will for their vocation.
On Wednesday during Orientation Week, students, faculty, and staff will head out to various parts of the Saint Louis area to provide four hours of service. Rev. Bill Wrede, Director of Ministerial Recruitment and Admissions said, “This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to serve our community, get to know the Saint Louis area, and become acquainted with their new classmates, faculty, and staff.” This is the Seminary’s fifth year serving with Gateway Greening, Compass Schools, Center for New Americans, and other agencies.
